Samsung has officially launched its latest smartphone – the Galaxy R. According to the company, the Samsung Galaxy R will be shipped globally in the mid of August. This smartphone will be released only South East & West Asia, Middle East Asia and China.
The Samsung Galaxy R smartphone comes with a slightly smaller 4.2-inch Super Clear LCD touch screen display that provides WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The Galaxy R mobile phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the Samsung’s TouchWIZ user interface. The device is powered by a new 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor and has 8 GB of inbuilt storage.
The Samsung Galaxy R handset includes a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash that is also capable of recording 720p video. The device also includes Social Hub, Games Hub, Music Hub and Reader Hub. It features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, HTML Web Browser, Stereo FM radio with RDs, USB and supports Java Apps, Digital compass.
The Samsung Galaxy R phone offers a standard rechargeable battery of Li-Po 1650 mAh which delivers talk time of 9 hours and standby of 620 hours. The pricing details of the smartphone are not announced yet.
