Asus has released it’s ROG G53JW-IX162V 3D Laptop like the Alienware, the 3D solution has active shutter glasses from NVIDIA and also an integrated receiver in the guts of ROG G53JW-IX162V-3D. That’s one of the particular good on this model because it doesn’t need the additional hardware on the outside. The large fans at the back mean Asus had to cram the ports at front and back sides, The makers of ROG G53JW-IX162V-3D even had to add a card reader at the front.
It is an unfortunate design feature but we would rather have the comprehensive port layout than the bugger all. The users will get 4 USB ports, 1 HDMI port for outsourcing your HD content to an HD source, one VGA, one eSATA and also the fastest wired LAN connector. The users will also be pleased to hear that they will get a Blu-ray player and pretty nice chiclet keyboard, which is complemented by a solid matte touchpad.
Despite only sitting on a tiny 15.6″ chassis, we found that this ROG G53JW-IX162V from Asus to be a bit weighty. It’s bulked up by the gorgeous stealth bomber design and it’s still essentially good for carrying around over to a mates but the user shouldn’t want to carry it for long time.
The Colour Shine LED (Light Emitting Diode) screen supports a smarter resolution of 1366 x 768. If that were on a bigger model one would notice the uniqueness but it is fine here. In fact, the streamed 720p HD content from You Tube and the screen was best suited for movies playback, offering sharper colours and good detail if the user is a one who is happy to sit close enough while using it.
