LG Electronics is going to introduce its first highly anticipated Google TV at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 (CES) in Las Vegas. The LG Google TV is running on its own L9 chipset and also a brilliant mash up between LG’s Smart TV technologies and Google’s Android OS. It will have ARM-based chipsets that allow a reduction in power consumption.
The President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company, Havis Kwon told, “LG has constantly strived to provide consumers with wider choices in home entertainment that bring the highest level of sophistication and convenience. Through Google TV, LG has merged Google’s established Android Operating System with LG’s proven 3D and smart TV technologies.”
The LG Google TV will feature the ‘Magic Remote Qwerty’, which is a combination of its voice-controlled Magic Remote and a QWERTY keyboard. The new gadget is also endowed with features like social networking, search and other TV functions. It also allows multi-tasking on the big screen. The Google TV will come with Cinema 3D glasses that are equipped with FPR technology. It also has Cinema 3D technology to provide a comfortable and convenient viewing experience.
With announcing the Google TV, LG joins Sony Corp, Samsung Electronics Co and Visio with hardware supporting format.
