With dual SIM phone picking well in the Indian market.
Nokia, Finland-based mobile phone maker has announced its entry into the dual-SIM mobile phone segment in India. Nokia launched two new handset – C1 and C2, a move aimed at strengthening its market share in the country.
Nokia Executive Vice-President (Mobile Phones) Mary McDowell told reporters “Entry-level consumers need dual SIMs for various reasons, including economising time and costs, improving efficiency and for increased convenience. To address these consumer requirements, Nokia has launched these two devices that offer multiple SIM capabilities with a balanced feature set and relevant innovations at affordable price points here.”
D Shivkumar, Nokia India Managing Director, told reporters in New Delhi, “The dual SIM market in India has taken off well, mainly due to the tariff war amongst telecom operators. People have more than one SIM to get benefits from various offers and hence the dual-SIM segment has grown. The segment is significant and we feel that it is the right time to enter this market.”
The Nokia C1 (C1-00) is priced at Rs. 1,999 and is equipped with flashlight and FM radio
The Nokia C2, which will be available later this year, will facilitate access to services like Ovi Life Tools and Ovi Mail.
Though other multinational mobile players like Samsung already have dual-SIM handsets in the market. Most handsets launched by the Indian companies are dual-SIM phones.

The reason behind of releasing this kind of handsets is because that having a 2 sim in one phone will not only saves money for us but also it will become more helpful to manage your contact numbers easily especially if you are a business man or what ever profession you have.
