Three-way tie at St Jude Classic as Rickie Fowler misses cut

Three-way tie at St Jude Classic as Rickie Fowler misses cut

Cink has gradually improved his game since missing several weeks past year to help care for his wife Lisa, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.

Ben Crane walks between the second and third holes during the final round of the St. Jude Classic golf tournament Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Memphis, Tenn. "It was as if I'd never won before, as if I was a rookie". Golf is tough. There's ups and downs, but I just can't believe that I've won again. "I stroked the ball well", said the 2011 Masters champion. "So obviously very pleased". Now he'll take quite a bit of momentum into next week's U.S. Open.

Crane is one of Cink's good friends on the tour and said it's been rewarding to watch Cink overcome so much adversity.

"If you're missing fairways, with the greens, you're going to miss a lot of greens, you're going to struggle", he said. The two played in the same group on Saturday.

Sydneysider Jones, who began his round on the 10th, couldn't rediscover the first-round radar with his approach shots, but played some exquisite chips and clutch putts around several greens to maintain his challenge.

NSW's Brett Drewitt was unable to match his brilliant second round of 65, adding a third round of 72 to be in a share of 37th position at 2 under and seven shots from the lead.

The cut was 1 over and Rickie Fowler, who finished the two rounds at 4 over after rounds of 74 and 70, was among those who missed the cut.

The 32-year-old South African then moved into sole possession of the lead with a birdie on the par-4 second - only to give it back with a bogey on the par-3 eighth. Phil Mickelson was also in the mix on Sunday, but veered off track with a triple-bogey on the 12th hole to trickle back.

But Mickelson closed with two bogeys, a birdie and a double bogey at No. 9 to finish at 4 under par, five behind co-leaders Chez Reavie, Charl Schwartzel and Sebastian Munoz.

Kim had a birdie at No. 15 to move to 9 under and into a three-way tie with Berger and Schwartzel before finishing with three pars in his round of 67.
