George Obsorne says Theresa May is a 'dead woman walking'

THERESA MAY has been branded a "dead woman walking" who could be forced out of No.10 within days.

The former Chancellor has called for Theresa May to quit after her election debacle, describing her as a "dead woman walking". I and other senior colleagues have made that clear to her, ' Mr Fallon told the BBC's Andrew Marr show. I think she will have to go unfortunately. Now, she's lost the Conservative majority in Parliament after a disastrous campaign.

Jeremy Corbyn turned the screw by saying that another election would be a "good thing", as a poll suggested Labour could win a rerun outright.

Mr Osborne, who was sacked by May and is now editor of the London Evening Standard, said there was now no majority in the Commons for a "hard Brexit", following Thursday's General Election. Where did she go wrong? "We could easily get to the middle of next week and it all collapses for her".

Mrs May has said she will try to form a Government with the help of the Democratic Unionist Party, but Mr Osborne said there was little chance of that succeeding. I make it a rule.

He added: "If in six or 12 months time we have another election it will be the fault of those MPs in my party who are trying to capitalise on this situation to reverse the decision of last year's referendum - avidly pro-European, pro-EU colleagues who have never really accepted the referendum result". The defence secretary said May understands that a minority government requires a "collective approach", working together more with backbenchers and the cabinet....

"But I do think if we're going to have a leadership contest in the Conservative Party, what we can not do is have another coronation like last summer".

She rejected suggestions after the London Bridge attack that a 20,000 fall in the number of police officers had made the United Kingdom more vulnerable to terrorism.

Nicky Morgan, another cabinet minister who was dumped by Theresa May, said: "I think it's fairly clear Theresa May can not lead us into another election - of course, we don't know when that's going to happen, and I don't think we should rush that".

We have a programme, we have support and we're ready to fight another election campaign as soon as may be, because we want to be able to serve the people of this country on the agenda we put forward, which is transformative and has gained incredible levels of support.

Whilst Emily Thornbury the shadow cabinet member said that May is "squatting in Downing Street". There's a possibility of voting it down it and we're going to push that all the way.

"I just can't see how she can continue in any long-term way". Indeed my own hope would be that perhaps her last service to the party would be to give it the time to think about a successor but very much in the context of the policies of the successor.

'But be in no doubt, look at this weekend - you have got the leader of the opposition common on this programme as a kind of victor.
