Eating French Fries May Kill You!

Eating French Fries May Kill You!

There can be many factors at play here such as high consumption of fried foods, the quality of cooking oil used or perhaps the effect of frying on the nutritional value of potatoes. This tasty treat is a mainstay of fast food restaurants and diners nationwide, and it's also easy to find in the freezer section of your local grocery store.

Can you imagine a world without hot and crispy French fries?

Hey, French fry lovers!

Cording suggests that people don't necessarily need to avoid french fries entirely - instead, they can be enjoyed as an occasional treat as part of a healthy lifestyle, and only eating them once a month.

How did the researcher's come by that statistic?

The study looked at the potato consumption of 4,400 people between the ages of 45 and 79 over the course of eight years, and then studied the similarities and differences among the 236 individuals who died during that time period.

According to a report in Daily Mail, researchers have found that eating french fries may increase the risk of death. "Additional studies in larger sample sizes should be performed to confirm if overall potato consumption is associated with higher mortality risk", the study concluded.

A healthier alternative to fried potatoes is to eat home made oven roasted potatoes. However, when consumed at a controlled level, the French fries can be relished.

While that link cannot be disregarded, diehard potato fans can rightfully claim that ingested atmospheric pollution is way more harmful than a packet of chips or fries can be.

To break this down into simpler terms, eating fried food is definitely bad for you, and this includes French fries.

The study, however, doesn't prove that eating fried potatoes kills people - it just shows that people who died during the study were more likely to eat fried potatoes more regularly.
