Cosby lawyers accuse Andrea Constand of lying to police

Tuesday was Day Two of Cosby's trial on charges that he drugged and assaulted Andrea Constand at his home in 2004. Before being asked about how she came to meet Cosby, the prosecution asked her to point Cosby out in the courtroom.

"The defense also has phone records that show Constand placing more than 50 calls to Cosby in the months after the alleged incident", the Washington Post reports.

"It was a very big burden on me, but one that I didn't have the courage at the time to tell my family about", she said. At that time, Gianna Constand did not know precisely how Cosby had assaulted her daughter. "I think the questions turned personal, like, 'Where are you from?' and 'Did you play basketball yourself?'" "I could see two of him", and recalled that her "mouth was cottony".

Cosby maintains only that he gave Constand the antihistamine Benadryl to relieve stress, insists their sexual relations were consensual and accuses her of lying. "And I felt naked".

On one of those occasions, she said, Cosby tried to unbutton her trousers but she told him, "I'm not here for that".

"Ma'am I was mistaken, it was 2002", Constand said. "I trusted him. I wasn't scared of him in any way".

The day after the alleged assault, Johnson said Cosby called her boss and asked that she be fired.

"He said, 'These will help you relax, '" Constand alleged, crying. "He said put them down". Are they natural? Are they herbal?' He said, 'Yes.

"But you weren't drugged that night", Agrusa pressed.

"I said, 'I trust you.' I took the pills and I swallowed them down", Constand told the court.

Agrusa also questioned why Constand allowed herself to be alone with Cosby after the comedian had made advances on two occasions - touching her thigh one time and trying to open her trousers another time.

"She could go to school", he said.

"The fact that he's been such an example, you can't take away from the great that he has done", Pulliam said.

"Mr. Cosby never disclosed to me that he was interested in a romantic interaction with me", she said during her seven hours of testimony, spanning two days. "But ultimately, that's just how I've lived my life - in terms of being very genuine and authentic to who I am", the actress told reporters, according to E! "I was in no state of mind".

During her testimony, Cosby "rubbed his forehead and shook his head".

As she came back into consciousness, she found Cosby lying next to her, touching her breasts, and placing her hand on his penis. "They're your friends; they'll take the edge off, '" she said. "I was trying to move my hands, move my legs. I wanted him to stop".

On Tuesday, Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Kristen Feden asked Constand why she contacted a private lawyer before police.

Her testimony continued to say she had trouble standing up after taking the pills and that Cosby led her to the couch to lie down and gave her a pillow before she became unconscious. Afterward, testified Mason, Constand said she and Cosby went to his Cheltenham home.

Cosby, 79, is charged with drugging and sexually abusing Constand in 2004. Constand is a lesbian, but didn't tell Cosby at the time. "I remember wanting to pull up my dress and wanting to cover myself, but not being able to", Johnson said. "I didn't talk about my personal feelings about things". Cosby has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct.

In his opening statement, Cosby's defense attorney, Brian McMonagle, said, "Sexual assault is a bad crime".
