Cavaliers return to Cleveland after NBA Finals

On Monday night, the Warriors won the NBA Finals with a 129-120 win against the Cavaliers, but it was Kevin Durant's mother, Wanda Durant, who stole the show in the celebrations afterward.

The Warriors came into Game 5, with a 3-1 lead and Durant scored an impressive 39 points en route to his maiden National Basketball Association title as well.

"They're going to be around for a while", Cavaliers forward LeBron James said after suffering his second Finals defeat in three years to a Warriors team that went 16-1 in the playoffs.

During a post-game interview inside Oakland's Oracle Arena with ABC's Doris Burke, Mama Durant intervened to let Durant know just how proud of him she was.

"The Bible says the Lord exalts humility and that's one thing I try to be all the time".

Durant picked up two fouls in the first quarter while the officiating crew tried to eliminate some of the physical play that was apparent in Game 4.

Okay, so maybe I was a year premature in proclaiming that the Golden State Warriors are the best team in basketball.

"I've been so lucky to be part of so many championship teams as a player and now as a coach, and it never gets old", said Steve Kerr.

This time, Curry, Durant and the rest of the team silenced Cleveland before they had a chance to make more noise. Asked before the game if his team would approach the game as if it had "nothing to lose", Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue responded, "We do have something to lose: a championship". "You can get lost in the daily routines and the hype of what we do on the floor and forget why we're here".

Before becoming the NBA Finals MVP, Durant was the butt of jokes and ridiculed for joining the already stacked Warriors in 2016. (You can begin lining up to get a good view at 5 a.m., and people probably will just like they did two Junes ago). Cleveland's Big Three was not in full force with Kevin Love held to six points.

By the way? If you are still one of the slow thinkers who have ever doubted LeBron James' brilliance and the force of his athletic will and character, it was all on display in Game 4.

The 2017 NBA Finals showed that the Cavaliers aren't equipped to beat the Warriors as now assembled, and LeBron James is growing older with heavy mileage from his many trips to the NBA Finals combined with Olympic and other worldwide appearances.

"I just wanted to come in there and just be me".

You can add the makers of Jeopardy! to Durant's growing list of critics.
