Starbucks Is Testing Coffee Ice Cubes

The caffeinated cubes, which are made from Colombian coffee, will cost an extra 80 cents. If the coffee ice proves popular with consumers, we could see a more widespread roll out in the future.

Nothing is worse than watery iced coffee, and Starbucks finally got the memo.

The gourmet coffee and tea giant is reportedly trying out its newest creation: coffee ice cubes. Slowly, people started to realize that coffee ice was indeed being tested at Starbucks.

Cosmo Magazine reported the Coffee Ice is already offered at locations in Baltimore and Saint Louis, and just in time for summer, too. If you live in St. Louis, Missouri, or Baltimore, Maryland, that is. One used it to make a white mocha frappuccino, reporting that "the coffee ice really made it better".

What's even more exciting about the coffee ice cubes might be what the Reddit user was beginning to consider: all of the coffee cube possibilities!

"It's one of several tests going on", Shafer told ABC News. Think about all of the ways that you can spruce up your coffee orders!

Starbucks is no stranger to beverage tests and innovative food launches.
