Live Streaming For Youtube Drops The 1000 Subscriber Requirement

YouTube's livestreaming feature has been in the news for quite some time. Apparently, that could be because of the small subscriber base reached by the livestreaming feature since its launch.

The YouTube Live streaming feature dropped the 1,000-subscriber requirement that was introduced in early April, making the functionality available to almost all registered users. It has been rolling out the feature to content creators with at least 10,000 subscribers in February before lowering the requirement ten times in April. According to a report from Android Police, the video site is dropping a requirement that means users have to have more than 1,000 subscribers before they "Go Live" via a phone or tablet.

Assuming that a user meets the bare minimum requirements set by YouTube, the live stream button should appear at the bottom right-hand corner of the YouTube app after tapping the video icon. Following the newly introduced terms of use, the broadcasting feature of YouTube is available to all subscribers who have a verified channel and haven't been issued with any live streaming restrictions in the last 90 days.

The YouTube Live Streaming feature is now available to all uses of the YouTube app and you no longer have to have a certain amount of subscribers to use it.

"We've been experimenting and expanding mobile live streaming for nearly a year now", the spokesperson said.

Firstly, users need to have a verified channel.

UPDATE: May 18, 2017, 4:30 p.m. UTCA previous version of this article stated YouTube livestreaming is now available to all users, which is not the case.
