Destiny 2: Bungie debuts first gameplay from opening mission 'Homecoming'

In arguably the biggest news to come out of today's Destiny 2 gameplay reveal event, the game's developers, Bungie, announced that it will be exclusive to Blizzard's Battle.net platform on the PC platform.

Destiny 2 gameplay trailer focuses on fall of Earth, the last refuge of humanity.

Destiny 2 is out September 8 for PS4 and Xbox One, but there hasn't been any confirmation of when we can expect the PC version to drop.

The "suite" of Destiny 2-themed products from Razer will include a Razer DeathAdder Elite mouse (which Razer claims is the "most accurate mouse ever created"), a Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard, a Razer ManO'War Tournament Edition headset, and a Razer Goliathus Speed mouse mat.

The Crucible will also add a new competitive mode called "Countdown" that will have players start out on either Offense or Defense, which then gets swapped for each round. The story will be about finding the Guardians on new locations like Nessis, Titan, and IO to reunite them and take back your home.

"We're not committed to a PC date yet", Destiny 2 creative director Luke Smith told PC Gamer. "There have been three things rattling around in our heads", he said before listing the three pillars Bungie used to describe their Destiny sequel.

The main campaign is being described as being longer than any other series with having "more cinematics" and "more story missions".

There's a new PvP game mode which is an evolution of Elimination mode.

PC version will use Blizzard's Battle.net service, including features like cross-game chat, and not Steam.

It's clear, not only from the language used during the event but the in-game sequence of events where you get kicked out of the Tower, that Bungie wants this to be a reboot of the mechanics but not the world itself.

Bungie has also offered the Beta access to all the Pre-Order customers. The goal of Destiny 2 is to go out and recover your powers. The new enemy in "Destiny 2", named Gaull, believes the Traveler, the enigmatic being that gives Guardians their powers, should have given those powers to he and the Red Legion, his band of followers.

No matchmaking for Raids and other late game content, but new Guided Games system will allow solo players to temporarily join existing clans to make up their numbers.
