Deer wanders into Walmart in Wadena, MN

Deer wanders into Walmart in Wadena, MN

A photo of the man, Tom Grasswick, pinning the deer down and covering its eyes in an effort to keep it from resisting, was later shared to Facebook by Stephanie Koljonen, and has received a lot of media attention.

Grasswick covered the eyes of the startled deer and he and others managed to remove the animal and set it free outdoors.

A man was able to get a hold of the deer and wrangle it to the floor, keeping it calm until employees were able to escort the deer back outside.

Stephanie Koljonen, a witness said, "We were in the pet food aisle and hear what sounds like a shelf falling onto a woman, because a woman screamed who the deer had run into".

Tom Grasswick, who happens to live in Deer Creek, told WDAY-TV (http://bit.ly/2q0NvFz ) that he felt like someone had slugged him when the deer slammed into him. "We rushed to help and that's when we saw a deer was on the loose".

The deer had been spotted walking in the garden center of the store around 7:30 p.m., police said.

It's hardly surprising that the deer freaked out, I feel a sense of claustrophobia and paranoia when I'm surrounded by Walmart freaks.
