Tuchel: The Monaco goal destroyed our belief

Borussia Dortmund head to Monaco with the task of overturning a 3-2 first leg deficit it what is set to be a hard night for the Germans.

"The first goal was my mistake, I should have used my fists to push it further away".

The semifinal draw on Friday will include Monaco, Juventus, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

But asked which side he feared the most, Jardim's answer spoke volumes for Monaco's confidence. "But we expect a much stronger Dortmund team".

Monaco has come a long way since July 27 previous year - when it started in the qualifying rounds with a trip to Istanbul. Monaco got past Fenerbahce and then beat Spanish side Villarreal to reach the group stages.

Leonardo Jardim insisted Monaco will stay true to their attacking philosophy after advancing to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Ligue 1 side took a 3-2 first-leg lead back to Stade Louis II, where kick-off was pushed back five minutes after Dortmund's team bus was delayed.

AS Monaco are in scary form in the Champions League this season.

@BVB! We will never forget.

"Our trademark is scoring goals", mentioned Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel in the pre-match presser. "Maybe we'll need to score tomorrow to go through". "We made too many basic errors".

For Dortmund, elimination was hard to take but the tie was overshadowed by the bomb attack on their team bus en route to last week's first leg which left Marc Bartra with a broken wrist.

However, their second-leg preparation was also disrupted with Dortmund saying their bus was held for 20 minutes by local police.

"We wanted to leave at 7:15 p.m".

"Over both games we have the feeling that everything that could go wrong went wrong", he said. Understandably the events of last week are not to be forgotten but a team with the class and professionalism of Dortmund will be sure come out firing, especially since star man Marco Reus is set to make his return.

"We believe in our ability and we know we can score goals".

Left back Bernard Mendy ran at the heart of Dortmund's defence and hit a fierce shot that goalkeeper Roman Burki spilled.

The France worldwide then took his reputation to new heights at Signal Iduna Park where he scored either side of half-time to secure a 3-2 victory before scoring again at the Stade Louis II.
