As the petite SC mom stood next to the massive giraffe, you'd never know the two would have so much in common.
She had garnered her own online fan club when she videotaped her pregnant self, wearing a $16 giraffe head in a parody of April's live-streamed and long-delayed birth.
On Tuesday, Erin Dietrich, the SC woman who became an internet sensation as "Giraffe Mom", got a chance to have a meeting of the minds, er, necks, with April the giraffe.
After weeks of watching and waiting, April the giraffe gave birth to a boy this past weekend at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York.
Dietrich met the park's owner, Jordan Patch, and even hand-fed April some lettuce and carrots.
Erin said she'd been watching the April the Giraffe stream, and thought it would be amusing.
She went on to give birth to a healthy baby boy named Porter on March 8, well ahead of her ungulate counterpart, who finally gave birth to a male calf on Saturday, April 15.
"We're buddies; we're companions", Dietrich told Inside Edition.
The video quickly went viral and reached more than 32 million views on Facebook.
Dietrich brought her newborn son, Porter, to meet the giraffe.
Dietrich fed April some vegetables during the visit. "She just doesn't know it".
