New Xiaomi Mi 6 marks focus shift
There's also no headphone jack, a la the iPhone 7 and other recent Android phones.
Xiaomi Mi 6, the company's latest flagship phone was officially unveiled today at an event in Beijing. The Mi 6 will be Xiaomi's flagship for 2017 and has been created to showcase the company's prowess in the field of smartphone technology. Priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 23,500) for the 64GB storage and 6GB RAM variant, the smartphone looks to improve on its predecessor, and we take a look at six key Xiaomi Mi 6 features that stand out for the new flagship. This device comes with MIUI optimizations along with 10nm efficient processor. The Adreno 540 GPU contributes to a 25 percent performance improvement, and supports the latest Vulkan graphics API. Both the Mi 6 and iPhone 7 have an f/1.8 lens for the standard camera.
When it comes to battery life, the Xiaomi Mi 6 offers a 3500mAh battery with fast charging, while the Galaxy S8 comes with a smaller 3000mAh battery, with support for wireless and fast charging. It features a 12 MP wide-angle camera and a telephoto camera with a 2X lossless zoom- which means that the image quality will remain consistent even if you zoom the image- that would allow users to capture images that look like they have been shot using a professional camera. Mi5's 4-axis OIS is also present. There is dual-tone LED flash and a PDAF for the rear camera. The selfie camera is of 8MP.
As per the new leaks, MiMax 2 has a redesigned back side and other new features. Note that the curve is only present at the rear, like the previous Mi 5. However, Xiaomi hasn't confirmed about the water-resistant property adhering to IP68 certification.
The Mi 6 packs-in a 5.15-inch Full HD screen. The device also sports ultrasonic fingerprint placed under the glass. Additionally, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is available in a Ceramic edition with 18-karat gold camera rim. There is an all aluminium frame round the sides of the smartphone.
The phone is so powerful, if each of the components were cut in half, the two halves could each make an individual phone. However, we warn you again as these rumoured specifications can change anytime before the device is actually out.
Apart from that, the Mi 6 can accommodate two 4G nano-SIM cards at the same time.
Just like the Mi 6, OnePlus 3T too runs a customised version of Andoid.
Let's skim through the top five features of Xiaomi Mi 6. Previously, there were speculations that the Mi 6 will be accompanied by a bigger variant, the Mi 6 Plus.
