Shootings Kill 1 Person, Wound 6 Since Friday, Police Say

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable", police said.

At 8:44 p.m., he was in the 5500 block of South Lafayette when someone in a light-colored, four-door sedan opened fire, according to Chicago Police. An acquaintance drove him to St. Bernard Hospital, where he died, police said. The woman was stabilized at Stroger Hospital. The younger man was shot in the head and taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead.

A third victim, a 22-year-old man, was driven to a hospital on Chicago's Northwest Side with a gunshot wound to the torso.

A 41-year-old man was shot Saturday night in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. He was in good condition, but it wasn't clear where the attack happened, police said.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to Stroger Hospital and two adults were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, fire officials said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 11600 block of South Yale Avenue when three men walked up to him and demanded his property. Witnesses say they heard 4-5 shots.

Twenty-three people were shot in Chicago last weekend.
