Power Restored Following 'Major' Outage In Bayonne, New Jersey

Much of Bayonne and Jersey City were without power for almost two hours Monday morning, authorities said.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. today when two transformers at the local switching station went out of service.

Residents across the Bayonne are reporting it on social media and police said PSE&G was sending crews to the city.

The doctor says a woman was stuck in the elevator for nearly an hour when the power went out.

The PSE&G website said of the roughly 18,000 customers affected, 4,500 are in the Greenville neighborhood of Jersey City. Law enforcement officers were seen helping direct traffic in some spots, and the city's Office of Emergency Management issued a plea for caution driving.
