Jeff Bezos Pilots a Giant Robot

Jeff Bezos Pilots a Giant Robot

And Bezos looked like a kid in a candy store (a futuristic Richie Rich, to be exact) as he played around in the robot.

Bezos has been previously compared to Luthor, who is also a billionaire, businesses magnate, and philanthropist.

"Why do I feel so much like Sigourney Weaver", Bezos said while raising the arms of a 13-foot-tall robot. Building a habitat will be no easy task and astronauts will need to wear some kind of suit in order to survive while they work. He tweeted out the picture above earlier this morning saying, "I just got to pilot an awesome (and huge) robot thanks to Hankook Mirae Technology".

The Machine-Learning Automation, Robotics & Space Exploration conference, MARS for short, is a private tech conference held annually by Amazon, and is attended by experts in the fields of artificial intelligence, space exploration, and robotics.

This makes sense, as it is clear from the photo and video of Bezos that the Method-2 robot is stationary, secured in place by steel chains connected to the ceiling of the secret venue where the MARS 2017 conference took place.

According to The Verge, the robot is manufactured by South Korean company Hankook Mirae Technology and is called Method-2.

It's still unclear what Method-2's goal is on Earth, but so far we've seen it move its giant mechanical arms and take a couple of unimpressive steps.

Developed in a laboratory near Seoul, Method-2 is a collaboration between Hankook Mirae's engineers and Vitaly Bulgarov, the designer famous for Hollywood robot creations in films like the live-action remake of Ghost in the Shell, Terminator, Transformers 4: Age of Extinction and RoboCop.

"Frankly, right now, we don't even really care if people think this is legit because we didn't try to promote it", Bulgarov wrote.
